Connecting your accounts, what Firmtrack reads, and what it never does. Every platform fact cites the platform's own page and carries the date it was last checked.
Connecting
- Connect a Topstep (TopstepX) accountTopstep accounts connect through the ProjectX API with a username and an API key you generate in TopstepX. Topstep charges for API access.
- Connect a Tradovate account (Apex, Tradeify, Lucid, MFF and others)Tradovate-backed prop accounts connect by signing in on Tradovate's own page. Nothing to buy. Firmtrack's partner access is pending with the NinjaTrader Ecosystem.
- Connect a Rithmic account (Apex, MFF, Tradeify, Lucid, Alpha, Bulenox and others)Rithmic-backed accounts connect with the login your firm issued plus the firm's system name. Nothing to buy. Firmtrack is completing Rithmic's conformance process.
Firms and platforms
- Which platform is my firm on, and what does connecting cost?A prop-firm account is really an account at a trading platform. The platform decides how you connect and whether it costs you anything.
- Why does Topstep charge for API access when other firms do not?Topstep runs its own platform, TopstepX, on ProjectX, and sells the API as an add-on. Other firms sit on Tradovate or Rithmic, whose API access reaches you through a licensed vendor at no cost.
Your data
- What Firmtrack reads from a connected account, and what it never doesRead-only, by construction. Firmtrack pulls account names, balances and fills. It has no code path that places, changes or cancels an order.
- API keys, sessions, and keeping them safeA key is not a password, but treat it like one. How Firmtrack stores it, how to rotate it, and what to do if you think it leaked.
- How syncing works: first pull, daily pulls, and what "Sync now" doesThe first connect pulls up to 400 days of fills. After that, Firmtrack re-reads the last three days on every sync so late corrections land.
- Practice, evaluation, and funded accounts: what discovery guesses and how to correct itFirmtrack reads the stage and size from the account name and takes the drawdown and target from the verified rule book. You can override both.
- What is not on any platform API: purchases, resets, payoutsNo trading platform reports what you paid the firm or what the firm paid you. Those stay manual, and they are what the Money page is for.
